Being able to see things from different sides helps me understand the nature of problems and find solutions.
During more than thirty years of experience I have learned to look at social services and social work through the eyes of a personal assistant, manager, quality inspector, trainer and consultant, civil servant and regional politician.
I graduated from the Faculty of Science at Charles University, but I have spent practically my entire professional life in the social field. I ran the first sheltered apartment in the Czech Republic under the banner of the Duha organization. I co-founded and led three non-governmental, non-profit organizations. At the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic, I participated in the preparation of the system of quality control of social services. As a councillor for social policy and health in the capital city of Prague, I have worked to transform the social services system to enable disadvantaged people to live full and dignified lives in a dignified environment and with their loved ones.
After leaving the Prague City Hall, I have been working with governmental and non-governmental organizations to strengthen the system of community social services.
I think of solving complex problems as an expedition: we set a goal and look for a way.
